Weekly Weigh In: Pick A Little, Gain A Little

Not really much of a surprise, but I gained this week. 1.8 pounds to be exact. I've been very upfront with all you folks, and you know that when I head home, I kind of give myself a free card to enjoy whatever. A lot of you go on vacations. This year, I'm not going on any official vacations, so I guess we can count last week as a "vacation". I'll drop the weight quickly, as I usually do when I return to my regular eating schedule.

I did my first C25K Week Five run this morning. This week has a different routine for each of the five days. Today was a five minute run followed by a three minute recovery period. I was surprised that I made it all the way through each of the runs. Last night I downloaded a bunch of dance remixes of songs that I really liked to get me through my run instead of that awful techno stuff that was on the C25K podcasts. Now that I'm running about five minutes at a time, it's a lot easier for me to watch the timer on the treadmill.

So... I'm setting a goal for the next six weeks. I want to hit my 50 pound loss mark (another 10 pounds) by the end of June. I think it's totally doable in the next six weeks. Now that my semester is over (even though I'm teaching this summer), I can focus on my eating and my exercise. I need to get over this hump that's been keeping me hovering around that 40 pound loss mark. And this is the time to do it :)

What's life worth if we do not enjoy it. You planned the freedom and you're getting plenty of exercise. Trust you are back into food routine quickly.
C25K sounds like fun but I am determined not to run or jog for exercise ... my excuse/reason ... do not want to cause the jarring stress on these old bones. But I might change my mind one day ..... about 60lbs time maybe.

I know what you mean about the housemix for the C25K... it's just not my style of music at all.

I did c25k week 2 today for the first time. I was a little concerned, since last week, I was having the "are we almost done yets" with the 60 seconds, but 90 seconds wasn't too hard...

If I had any talent at all at sound remixing, I'd make my own podcast, but I wouldn't even know where to start >.<

I officially finished the C25K today with a 35 m. run. I never d'lded the stuff from the C25K--always listen to my own stuff!

10 in 6 weeks is totally doable, I'm starting a pounds loss challenge next Monday and I think it's 6 weeks too so I'll try for 10(or more ;)) too!

Congrats on your progress! You are speeding through the C25K...I'm so proud of you! I think I might need to start over...if I can do it at all. I am just not progressing like you. Now I have someone to look up to!

Keep up the awesome work, and remember that life is about living, so enjoy those treats.

I know what you mean about the free card when you go home. I did the same a couple of weeks ago.

We leave for Chicago Sunday morning so I'll be eating not-so-healthy for 4 days. I'll do my best, but I too am expecting a gain. At least I've prepped myself! ;)

Good luck on your 6-week challenge. You can do it! =)

You're doing great with your running. Gains are to be expected. Keep running and eat healthy and the scale will move in the right direction.
